In case you weren’t aware, I’ve started a blog for the U.S. Lighthouse Society at <uslhs.org/news>. I encourage you to subscribe to that blog for posts on lighthouse history, preservation, and other topics of interest to the lighthouse community.

archivesMany of you have asked about research in the National Archives since I’ve started working for the U.S. Lighthouse Society. I will be doing some research-for-hire projects for Lighthouse Society members with the help of an assistant this summer. (You would be billed by the Society.) The research should fit the Society’s mission of supporting lighthouse history, preservation & education, and all documents will become part of the Society Archives in  its digital Catalog. Also I encourage those for whom I have provided lighthouse-related research  in the past, to donate those files to the Society Archives and online catalog.

Please pass along the posting for the intern / research assistant to anyone you think might be interested in applying. The deadline for applications is April 16th.

Direct any questions to me at <candace@lighthousehistory.info>.
